Product introduction

Ferrous sulfate is an inorganic substance, the chemical formula is FeSO4, the appearance is white powder odorless. Its crystalline hydrate is heptahydrate at normal temperature, commonly known as "green alum", light green crystal, which is weathered in dry air and oxidized to brown on the surface of the basic iron sulfate in humid air, becoming tetrahydrate at 56.6℃ and monohydrate at 65℃. Ferrous sulfate is soluble in water and almost insoluble in ethanol. Its aqueous solution oxidizes slowly in air when it is cold, and oxidizes faster when it is hot. Adding alkali or exposure to light can accelerate its oxidation. The relative density (d15) is 1.897. It's stimulating. Ferrous sulfate can be used as chromatographic reagent and spot analysis for the determination of platinum, selenium, nitrite and nitrate. Ferrous sulfate can also be used as a reducing agent, the manufacture of ferrite, water purification, polymerization catalyst, photographic plate making, etc.

Product use:

Ferrous sulfate can be used to make iron salt, iron oxide pigment, mordant, water purification agent, antiseptic, disinfectant, etc.

1. Water treatment

Ferrous sulfate is used in the flocculation purification of water, as well as the removal of phosphate from municipal and industrial wastewater to prevent eutrophication of water bodies.

2. Reducing agent

A large amount of ferrous sulfate is used as a reducing agent, mainly to reduce the chromate in cement.

3. Medicine

Ferrous sulfate is used to treat iron deficiency anemia; It is also used to add iron to food, and long-term excessive use may cause side effects such as abdominal pain and nausea.

In medicine, it can also be used as a local astringent and blood tonic, and can be used for chronic blood loss caused by uterine fibroids.

4. Coloring agent

a, the production of iron tannate ink and other inks requires the use of ferrous sulfate. Mordant for wood dyeing also contains ferrous sulfate.

b, ferrous sulfate can be used to stain concrete yellow rust color.

c, wood with ferrous sulfate to make maple silver color.

5. Agriculture

Adjust the soil pH, promote the formation of chlorophyll (also known as iron fertilizer), can prevent flowers and trees due to iron deficiency caused by yellowing. It is an indispensable element of acid-loving flowers and trees, especially iron trees. Agriculture can also be used as a pesticide, can prevent wheat smut, apple and pear scab, fruit tree rot; It can also be used as fertilizer to remove moss and lichen from tree trunks.

6. Analytical chemistry

Ferrous sulfate can be used as a chromatographic reagent.
